With the Christmas shopping in full swing, the Michigan Lottery has yet again teamed up with McGill University and the National Council on Problem Gambling. Not so much for its status, but for reminding everyone that lottery tickets are not responsible Christmas presents to anyone under the age of 18.
Playing Michigan Lottery games is intended to be fun and enjoyable – a means to support good causes such as the School Aid Fund. But, while millions of players enjoy the games responsibly each year, some individuals display signs of problem gambling behavior. As such, the Michigan Lottery also reminds players that the best bet is knowing your limits always.
Help
But, for individuals affected by problem gambling, the Michigan Lottery committed to providing resources, information, and assistance in finding the right help. So, as part of this initiative, the Mi Lottery pledges $1 million annually to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to fund state-wide prevention and rehabilitation programs for gambling issues.
Responsible gaming has been an integral part of the Michigan Lottery since its establishment in 1972. This dedication also extends to the digital space. However, if gambling of any kind is negatively affecting you or someone in your life, please call the helpline numbers printed on all tickets.
