“My husband and I were on our way home from a high school football game when we realized we forgot to buy our normal Mega Millions tickets,” said the winner.

“We made a quick stop to get our tickets. We asked the clerk if the Super Raffle tickets were still available. He told us the drawing date had been extended. We mulled the decision over for a minute and decided to buy a ticket.

“On the fourth of October 2018, my husband realized the drawing had taken place a day earlier and checked our ticket. At first, he didn’t believe what he was seeing. So, he called me at work and asked me to check it. I then checked our ticket number online at the MI Lottery’s website. That’s when the shock of winning hit us both.

The lucky winners recently visited Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim the big prize. They chose to receive their winnings as a lump sum payment of about $2.5 million, rather than annuity payments for the full $4 Million amount.

“We look at this as a way to invest in our children and their future,” the winners said.

Lottery players should visit MichiganLottery.com to see if their Super Raffle number was drawn. Players also may scan their tickets using the Michigan Lottery app. Or players can visit one of the Lottery’s 11,000 retailers to see if they are a winner.
