Because March is problem gambling awareness month, MI Lottery has teamed up with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). This campaign is not only to educate the public but, to also help increase public awareness of problem gambling. The campaign also seeks to highlight the availability of prevention, treatment, and recovery services within the state of Michigan.
Since inception in 1972, Michigan Lottery has been committed to promoting responsible gaming to players across the state. In 2015, the Michigan Lottery became the first lottery in the United States to receive certification from the NCPG for its commitment to responsible online gaming.
As such, Michigan Lottery reminds all players that knowing-your-limits-is-always-the-best-bet. However, Michigan Problem Gambling Helpline is available to offer free, one-on-one support for players who may have a gambling problem.
To get confidential help 24 hours a day, seven days a week, players should call 800-270-7117. Chat and text options are also available through the MI Lottery website.
Every year, the MI Lottery offers one million dollars to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. This is to fund state-wide education and treatment agendas for problem gambling. Additionally, smart responsible gaming tools and amenities are embedded in MI Lottery’s online services.

A range of self-exclusion periods. This is where-by players choose to take a break from Michigan Lottery’s online gaming.
Daily and weekly deposit limits. With this tool, players can set daily and or weekly deposit limits.
Age verification at account registration.
Play history. These are records to monitor gaming activity. This tool also provides a full overview of account activities. This includes games played, amount wagered on each game, wins, losses, deposited and withdrawn funds.
