When it comes to playing Mega Millions game, Michigan Lottery players seem to have the Midas touch. And like the legendary king whose touch turned everything into gold, Michigan Lottery players have been exceptionally lucky with the Mega Millions jackpot on a Friday the 13th drawing.

Michigan Lottery records for a Friday the 13th drawing
Since 2003, Mi Lottery players have pocketed over $176 million in jackpot winnings drawn on Friday the 13th.
So far, four Michigan Lottery players hit the Mega Millions jackpot on the supposedly ill-fated day. Case in point, Kevin Blake, of Waterford, split a $42 million jackpot with a Rhode Island player on October 13, 2017.
Blake chose to receive the $21 million jackpot as a one-time lump sum of about $13.1 million, rather than annuity payments for the full amount. After-tax withholdings, he received about $9.3 million.
Besides the jackpot prizes, 32 lucky Mi Lotto Mega Millions players have won prizes. These range from $10,000 up to $1 million on presumably hapless Friday the 13th.
Mega Millions drawings take place each Tuesday and Friday evening. Each Mega Millions play is only $2. For an additional $1 per play, players may add a “Megaplier” that can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is $80 million. Players may purchase tickets for the drawing online at MichiganLottery.com and at the 10,500 retailers around the state until 10:45 p.m. on Friday.
