A very awkward part of playing the lottery is the process of deciding which numbers to play. These are the numbers that will make or break your bet. A Lansing woman, however, won a $250,000 prize playing the same set of numbers on Michigan Lottery’s KENO! game.
It seems she took a piece out of Richard Lustig’s advice and it paid off. Richard Lustig is a seven-time lottery grand prize winner who also is famous for telling players to pick their own numbers and stick with them every time they play.
The lucky player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched 10 of the 22 numbers Keno drawing held on the 5th of February 2019.
The lucky woman’s winning numbers were: 07-11-40-66-71-74-76-78-79-80. She bought her winning ticket at Kartar Liquor, located at 6200 South Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard in Lansing.
“I play my KENO! numbers every other day and I was getting ready to give up, but decided to buy a few more tickets,” said the 42-year-old player.
Apparently, her cousin called to tell her someone in Lansing has won on KENO! So, she decided to check the winning numbers on the Lottery app.
When she saw the winning numbers, she recognized them instantly and knew she was the winner.
She also matched nine numbers on two other KENO! tickets from the same drawing to win two $2,500 prizes. However, she missed the $750,000 payday by just two numbers!
She used a combination of birthdays and random numbers to select her set of winning numbers.
The lucky player visited Lottery headquarters last Tuesday to collect the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to treat herself a little but save the majority of the money.
KENO! tickets cost $1 per play. Players select 10 numbers from one to 80 for a chance to win prizes ranging from a free instant ticket up to $250,000. KENO! drawings take place at 7:30 p.m. everyday.
