A Michigan Lottery player, Robert Hill, of Almont in Lapeer County is a millionaire after winning $1 million on Mi Lottery’s The Big Spin show.
The 58-year-old won the prize after spinning the prize wheel on the show hosted by Detroit basketball champion John Salley.
MI Lottery invited him to The Big Spin show after entering non-winning The Big Spin tickets at MIBigSpin. However, two more drawings are scheduled. So, the show returns on December 16-20, 2019 and again on February 10-14, 2020.
“Winning is a big deal, and this is a lot of money,” said Hill. So, when the spinning wheel stopped at $1 million, he didn’t think it was real.
“Winning gives me a cushion and means I can enjoy the rest of my life with my family.”
But this is so far the largest prize won on the show in ten spins.
He opted for a one-time lump sum payment worth about $634,500 after tax deductions.
