On Wednesday night 27, March 2019, Powerball drew the winning numbers to the record $750 million jackpot. However, we don’t know yet who the actual winner is.
For now, all we know is that a single ticket sold in the State of Wisconsin matches all six winning numbers drawn. The winning numbers drawn were: 16, 20, 37, 44, 62. The Powerball was 12, and the Power Play 3x.
Before the drawing, the jackpot was an estimated $750 million, with a cash option of $465.5 million. However, at the time of drawing, and after the final sales were tallied in, the jackpot was worth an incredible $768,4 million.
The jackpot climb was due to strong ticket sales, which outpaced expectations. At the time of drawing the updated cash option was $477 million. This jackpot win leaves a mark as the fourth largest jackpot in U.S lottery history.
Multi-State Lottery Association officials said in a statement. The lucky ticket holder will have the choice between an estimated annuity of $768.4 million, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years, and a single lump sum payment option worth $477 million. Both prize option payments are before taxes.
Even if you didn’t match all the winning numbers, you could still be a winner of a lower prize. Thus, MI Lottery officials wish to remind players to check their tickets for one of the nine ways to win a Powerball prize.
In last nights’s drawing alone, 3,557,824 tickets won prizes ranging from $4 to the jackpot. Amongest which seven tickets won a second level prize worth $1 million for matching all but the red Powerball number. Also in the same results, two other tickets correctly matched five with the Power Play option on, thus thripling their prize to $3 million each.
