A fortunate Oakland Country woman recently won a $100,000 prize playing the Michigan Lottery‘s $6,000,000 Jackpot. The lucky winner unwittingly entered the second chance game following her ticket purchase.
The player, identified as Victoria Rudzewicz of White Lake, nailed a $100,000 top prize after her ticket was chosen as part of a random drawing on February 8. She got her chance at a hefty prize by scanning a non-winning ticket for the $6,000,000 Jackpot using the Michigan Lottery app.
Rudzewicz’s Story
Rudzewicz stated that she scanned all of her tickets using the Michigan Lottery app to check them, but she was unaware that scanning non-winning tickets automatically entered her for an opportunity at the Second Chance draw.
The unsuspecting player got an email notifying her of the prize she had won. Rudzewicz added, “I was ecstatic, but I wasn’t sure if it was real.” The winning prize was later confirmed with a phone call from the Michigan Lottery headquarters.
Rudzewicz called her daughter to drop the huge news. The winner then visited Michigan Lottery headquarters to joyfully claim her winnings. When asked about her upcoming plans following her big win, Rudzewicz said she plans to go on vacation with her daughter to Florida. She also intends to put the rest away for a rainy day.

Players can scan their non-winning tickets using the Michigan Lottery app to enter the Second Chance drawing. Eligible tickets for the $6,000,000 Jackpot can be scanned by September 1, 2023, in order to enter the Second Chance draw. There are eight more draws planned for the rest of the year.
The Second Chance draws award the following prizes:
- One big prize of $100,000
- Five prizes of $10,000
- Twenty prizes of $1,000
- Sixty prizes of $500
Winners receive an email notification and a phone call from Michigan Lottery headquarters.
