On September 21, 2019, Phillip Chippewa, a father of seven and 21 grandchildren from Suttons Bay, hit the Powerball jackpot, winning $80 million. So, his ticket matched the winning numbers 01, 09, 22, 36, 68, and the Powerball 22.
He bought the winning ticket at the Barrels & Barrels Party Store at 1375 SW Bayshore Drive in Suttons Bay. Still, this was the fourth time that a Michigan Lottery player hit the Powerball jackpot.
$17.01 million Lotto 47 jackpot, 2019
On August 24, 2019, a last-minute stop may have helped a Mi Lottery player win $17.1 million Lotto 47 jackpot. The anonymous 57-year-old man from Ogemaw County is reported as saying he nearly missed out on playing his Lotto 47 numbers on that fateful drawing.
Thanks to that last-minute decision he bought the life-changing ticket.
$5 million Lotto 47 jackpot
Classic Lotto 47 certainly is one of Michigan Lottery’s favorite semi-weekly draw games. The third top Michigan Lottery prize won in 2019 was a $5 million Lotto 47 jackpot won by a Grand Rapids woman on November 20, 2019.
She purchased her ticket at the D&W store on Street Southeast in Grand Rapids. This was the third time in 2019 that the Lotto 47 game made a multi-millionaire.
