The 60-year-old player won the prize after being selected in a random drawing on May 10. Entries into the giveaway were earned from playing eligible Monthly Jackpot online games at MichiganLottery.com.
The lucky player knew he was earning entries into the monthly drawing when playing Monthly Progressive Jackpot games but says he’s not a lucky person and never thought he would win. So, when he got a call from the Lottery informing him that he’s won the $538,958 prize, he thought it could be a scam call.
After talking to the lottery operator, the player checked his email and discovered he had won the prize. He confirmed its validity and was elated. Excited to share the news with his acquaintances, he chose to remain undisclosed.
Recently, he visited the Lottery headquarters to collect his substantial reward. His goal is to clear out his mortgage debt and put aside the remaining portion of his earnings for savings.
Six online instant games give players another chance to win, with every $0.50 wagered going toward the Monthly Second Chance Jackpot drawing. The current online second chance games are Michigan Multiplier Wilds, Lucky Start, Cash Vault, Viva Las Jackpots, Mystery Vault, and May Monthly Jackpot.
