The jackpot has been rolling over for nearly three months since the last win on June 4, when a single player in Illinois claimed a $552 million prize. In 2024, only one other Mega Millions jackpot has been won: a massive $1.128 billion prize in February by a player in New Jersey, which still remains unclaimed.
Mega Millions drawings occur every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. EST. Players pick five numbers from a pool of 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball from a pool of 1 to 25, with jackpot odds standing at 1 in 302 million. The game is available in 44 states, the District of Columbia, and the Virgin Islands, with each ticket costing $2.
