The Michigan Lottery continues changing people’s lives through generous cash prizes, rewarding outstanding educators’ efforts and dedication.
The Michigan Lottery Rewards Educator’s Effort and Dedication
An educator from Manistee Country is the most recent Excellence in Education award recipient. The recipient, Manistee Area Public Schools teacher McAnn Bradford, earned a $1,500 cash prize and a $500 grant for her classroom, school, or district.
Bradford stated she had wanted to be a teacher all her life. As a child, she would pick planners or books instead of toys. At school, she would pretend she was the teacher. Teaching is something that comes naturally to her. The thought of impacting children’s lives has propelled her career. Her favorite activity is reading to her students.
The parent of a former student nominated Bradford for the award. The individual indicated that students, staff members, and parents are lucky to have Bradford aboard. Her kindness, understanding, and fairness define her attitude toward her work.
Bradford graduated from Aquinas College with a bachelor’s degree and Michigan State with a master’s. She has been an educator for 29 years, spending the last five at her current school.
Bay County Player Scores Big Payday
A lucky player from Bay Country scored a $300,000 payday playing the Michigan Lottery’s Bingo Blockbuster instant game. The anonymous 46-year-old winner purchased the winning ticket at a Southside Market in Bay City.
The winner indicated he had purchased two $30 tickets and scored a $100 prize. He then took his winnings and bought more tickets. With one ticket left in the roll, he decided to scoop it up. After scratching and scanning the barcode, he got a message delivering the good news. However, the winner didn’t know how they had won until they claimed their prize at Michigan Lottery headquarters.
The stunned winner stated the money couldn’t have come at a better time. The player intends to carry out some home renovations and invest the rest of the prize.
The Bingo Blockbuster instant game was launched last June. Since then, it has paid more than $15 million to winners. Prizes range from $5 to $300,000. With over $10 million in prizes left, players still have a chance to cash in on a big score.
