Richard Miller III of Saginaw is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Lucky For Life game. This came after the 47-year-old’s ticket matched the first five winning numbers picked in the game’s drawing held on February 24, 2020.

Richard Miller III, only matched the five white balls drawn – 23, 27, 33, 44, and 48 but not the mega ball to win the games second prize. He bought his winning ticket at the 7-Eleven, located at 2032 Bay Street in Saginaw.
So, the store will receive a commission for selling the winning ticket. However, Miller becomes the 28th Michigan lottery player to win a big lifetime prize in the Lucky For Life game.
Winner’s comments
“I play Lucky For Life at the 7-Eleven when I stop to get my energy drinks,” said Miller. “I’ve become friends with one of the clerks there and she called me the morning after the drawing to tell me they sold the winning ticket and thought it was me.
“I went to 7-Eleven to check my ticket and was amazed when I saw I really won! I was so close to winning $1,000 a day for life. The Lucky Ball drawn was 11, and I had that three times on my ticket. Winning $25,000 a year for life is great though!”
Payment option chosen
So, when Miller visited Mi lotto’s headquarters in Lansing to claim his big prize. He opted to take his prize as an annuity. So, instead of a one-time payment of $390,000 (before taxes, he will receive annual payments of $25,000 a year for 20 years or life, whichever is more.

Lucky for Life is a drawn game. The game is played in Michigan plus 24 other states and in Washington D.C. However, drawings are held on Mondays and Thursdays. Still, tickets cost $2 per play line.
