Bhavik Patel, a 29-year-old man from Kentwood, a city of Kent County in southern Michigan, is an extremely lucky man. He recently won a $25,000 a year for life prize playing the Michigan Lottery’s Lucky for Life game.
Lucky for Life is a lottery draw game offered by the Michigan State Lottery, but unlike traditional lottery games which payout a lump sum prize, Lucky for Life is notorious for paying a fixed amount to winners, for the rest of the winner’s life.
Bhavik bought his Lucky for Life ticket, likely out of passion or habit, at the Speedway gas station, located at 16819 Marsh Rd, Haslett, Michigan. He was fortunate to match the first five numbers but not the lucky ball for Monday night April 23, 2018 draw (07-12-20-27-48), thus, winning the Lucky for Life’s second prize of $25,000 annuity.
But, he neglected to check if the ticket won or not. So, he might have never found out about the $25,000 annuity win, were it not for his dad, who discovered the winning ticket and brought it to his attention.
Bhavik visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters last Friday to claim his big win. He opted to be paid in an annuity, meaning he will receive annual payments of $25,000 for life or for 20 years, whichever comes last. With his newfound financial security, Bhavik plans to pay all his bills and look for investment opportunities.
