MI Lottery recently added a brand-new and very exciting feature, dubbed Double Play to two of its popular games. This Double Play is an add-on drawing feature that only applies to Lotto 47 and Fantasy 5 games.
The add-on feather offers Michigan Lottery Lotto 47 and Fantasy 5 game players, an extra chance to win even bigger prizes. This exciting feature launched on 20 January 2019, and only activates after each Lotto 47 and Fantasy 5 drawing.
If you add the Double Play feature to your Lotto 47 and or Fantasy 5 ticket, another set of winning numbers will be drawn from the pool of numbers for each game. So, players can match the same number in both the regular drawing and the Double Play drawing. The add-on is basically a player’s second chance to win twice for an extra $1. This also means players could win a prize in the normal drawing, or just in Double Play drawing, or a prize in both drawings.
For starts, Double Play prizes are huge. They’re worth more than the prizes in the normal draws. In the Lotto 47 game, the Double Play grand prize is set at $1.5 million. That is slightly higher than the starting Lotto 47 jackpot of $1 million. In addition, all other Double Play prizes are worth twice as much as in the standard game. So, for matching five numbers Lotto 47 you win $5,000, $200 for four, and $10 for three numbers.
The same goes for Fantasy 5 Double Play. The jackpot is fixed at $110,000, which is more than the classic draw’s starting jackpot of $100,000. All other prizes are worth double. For matching four numbers you win $200, for matching three numbers $20, and $2 for two.
Double Play non-jackpot prizes are doubled. The top prizes are $110,000 for Fantasy 5 and $1.5 million for Lotto 47. Players may win prizes in the regularly nightly drawing, the Double Play drawing, or both.
Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Lotto 47 play on the other side, also cost $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million and grows until someone wins it.
