According to Michigan State lottery, Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot stood at an estimated $147.3 Million in cash value, which equates to $247 Million in annuity value. Michigan lottery officials said the jackpot began growing fourteenth draws ago, since the Wednesday, 20th June 2018 drawing.
A single ticket beat the long odds by correctly matching all winning numbers (05 43 56 62 68 PB24 PP: X2) drawn on August 11, 2018, to claim the night’s Powerball grand prize amount of $247 Million.
The winning ticket was sold by lotto Retailer: STOP & SHOP #0581, located at 2754 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island in New York City, by way of a quick pick.
The glorious holder of the winning ticket is yet to come forward with the ticket and has up to sixty days after ticket validation to choose between cash and annuity payment options.
Should the jackpot winner choose the lump-sum payment they will walk away with $147,844,558.62 cash. And if they opt for the annuity payment option they are guaranteed to receive 30 graduated payments over 29 years, the annual payments increase by 5% until the 30 and final payment. The 30 payments will add up $245,600,000.00.
The $247 Million Powerball Jackpot win was not the only win in Saturday night’s Powerball drawing to walk away with a prize. There were also 844,506 other players who won a Powerball lower prize tier of some sort, which totals to 8,161,27 in prize payouts to players across all prize tiers.
According to Michigan Lottery reports, the last Michigan player to win the Powerball jackpot was Julie Leach, of Three Rivers. Leach won the game’s $310.5 million jackpot on Sept. 30, 2015.
