Big Lottery Winners in Michigan - Play Michigan Lottery
suitcase full of money

The Michigan Lottery continues to offer some great promotions both online and in-store, and it’s a great way to boost a potential payout while playing those games. Not everyone needs that extra promotion in order to win big though as there have been a couple of big winners already this week.

One lucky winner from Canton, Michigan recently won $3 million playing the Michigan Lottery, and another big winning ticket was sold this week. There are many weeks in which there aren’t any winner announced at all, and it’s a big surprise when there are a pair of million dollar or more prizes handed out in the same week.

Mega Millions Pays out Big

A woman from Canton didn’t find out that she won a $3 million prize from Mega Millions until she logged onto her account and saw that the win was pending. That lucky winner was 52-year-old Reagan Blanton from Canton, and she purchased her ticket directly from MichiganLottery.com.

This big win actually came all the way back on October 6, but Blanton just now visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim her prize. Winners have up to a year to claim the prize before the money gets put back into the system.

The five numbers that Blanton correctly matched were: 12-24-46-57-66, and that was good enough to win a prize of $1 million. Blanton also played the Megaplier which tripled her winnings all the way up to $3 million.

Now that the money has been claimed, Blanton announced that she plans to invest her winnings rather than spending it on anything right away. She mentioned that she saw that the jackpot was increasing while on vacation and was sure to buy a ticket when she returned home.

Tickets to the Mega Millions are just $2 per play and the drawing stake place every Tuesday and Friday night. For an extra dollar, players can purchase the Megaplier which triples the potential win, and that was the path taken by Blanton.

$1 Million Ticket Sold on Tuesday

The Michigan Lottery has announced that a $1 million jackpot winning ticket was sold on Tuesday in the Cash is King/Queen Game. The exact location of the purchase was at the Jack’s Fruit and Meat Market on 1000 Salzburg Avenue in Bay City.

No one has come forward and claimed the prize at this time, but anyone that bought a ticket from that location is encouraged to check their ticket. That lucky winner will have up to one year to claim their prize at the Michigan headquarters in Lansing.

Michigan state law does not require lottery winners to reveal their identity, but it’s unclear if this winner will choose to go that route or not. This is the first $1 million winning ticket sold in this game, and two others are still available at retailers throughout the state.

The three $1 million prizes are not the only draw to this game as there are also five $10,000 prizes that still need to be claimed.
