However, since everything had been closed, including the claim offices, Michigan Lottery players have been unable to claim their prizes if they were $50,001 or more. But now, these offices are back open, though by appointment only. This means that you are able to play online games and still get your winnings.
How To Contact The Claim Center
At least 40 players are itching to cash their winning lottery tickets. The prize amount for these unclaimed tickets is nearing $20 million.
If you are one of those 40 players that are still looking to have their tickets cashed out, you are in luck as of June 12. The doors are back open, with a method by appointment only.
To schedule your appointment, you have to call the claim center at 1-844-917-6325. By listening to your options, you will then select the claim center of your choice.
Safety Precautions Still In Place
The lottery staff at these claim offices will still be applying the same rules towards the COVID-19. This includes their use of social distancing, plexiglass separators at counters, wearing masks, and disinfecting all touched surfaces.
The Michigan Lottery does ask that you cooperate with these guidelines for everyone to remain safe. Some basic rules they have set are as follows:
- Wait in vehicle until time of appointment
- Must bring and use face mask
- No guests unless for specific accommodations
- Follow all rules once inside the building
- If you do not feel well, do not show up
Dedicated Appointments
The Michigan Lottery has special appointment days and times set up for people that are most susceptible to the virus. This includes people aged over 60, people with preexisting conditions, and pregnant women.
The days available for these special appointments are every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:45 am to 9:45 am. If still concerned about the appointments or meeting in person at all, contact the Michigan Lottery to find a better solution or see if you can drop off the claim to have it processed.
Claiming Large Prizes Online
Many of the gaming prizes won online will automatically be added to your gaming account. However, you should contact the public relations office at 844-887-6836 for any prize that is over $50,000.
