A man from Mason County had a great start to his day when he found out he’d won a $353,667 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery while enjoying his morning coffee. The 70-year-old player matched all five numbers in the June 13 Fantasy 5 drawing: 14-18-20-25-37, to win the big prize. He purchased his ticket at the Meijer department store at 3900 West US 10 in Ludington.

The lucky player says he plays Fantasy 5 a lot and always checks the winning numbers while drinking his coffee in the morning. He said in comments with the Michigan Lottery that when he saw that he had matched all five numbers, it took several minutes for the truth to sink in. He repeatedly looked at his ticket and the winning numbers to see if they were real.

The lucky winner remained anonymous and recently has already visited Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. He plans to help his family and save the remainder of his winnings.

Fantasy 5 from the Michigan Lottery costs just $1 per play. For an additional $1, players can add EZMatch to their tickets, giving them a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Players can also add Double Play to any Fantasy 5 ticket, giving them a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing.

Fantasy 5 is played by selecting five numbers from one to 39. Matching all five numbers gives the winner the top prize, which starts at $100,000. Fantasy 5 drawings are held seven days a week at 7:29 pm, with tickets available for purchase until 7:08 pm daily. Players can buy tickets at any Lottery retailer or online at MichiganLottery.com.

Michigan Lottery players also can’t forget to take their chance at winning more than $800 million available in the Powerball and Mega Millions draw games. The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday night’s drawing is estimated at $343 million. The lump-sum cash option for the winner would be $180.1 million.

The current Powerball jackpot for the next drawing on Wednesday is estimated at $462 million, with a cash option for the winner of $242 million.
