Lottery players in Michigan have a chance to win a huge jackpot in the upcoming Mega Millions drawing on Friday, April 14. The current jackpot stands at $476 million, with a cash option of $256 million. It’s the second-largest Mega Millions jackpot this year, with four players taking home the top prize so far in 2023.
The biggest prizewin was $1.348 billion by a player in Lebanon, Maine on January 13. Two jackpots were won in Massachusetts of $33 million and $31 million by players in Belchertown and Woburn. The fourth winner from the Bronx, New York, took home a $20 million Mega Millions prize.
The last time a player from Michigan won a Mega Millions jackpot was in January 2021, when a group of players from the Oakland County Lottery Club won $1.05 billion. It was the largest lottery prize in Michigan history and is the fifth biggest jackpot win in U.S. history.
Michigan players can participate in Mega Millions drawings, which take place every Tuesday and Friday night at 11:00 pm ET. Each entry costs just $2, with players able to add the “Megaplier,” which can multiply and non-jackpot prize by up to 5x. Tickets can be purchased at any Lottery retailer in Michigan or MichiganLottery.com until 10:45 pm on the night of the drawing.
The Mega Millions draw game is available in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Players in Michigan have several options to play the top jackpot draw games available anywhere. Powerball is another option where players can pick six numbers with the potential to win hundreds of millions of dollars. The current jackpot is at an estimated $219 million for the upcoming drawing on April 15.
Powerball tickets cost $2, with drawings taking place on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights at 10:59 pm ET, and the Powerball Double Play drawing held later between 11:30 and 11:40 pm. For an extra $2, players can multiply any non-jackpot prize by 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, or 10x. However, players are not eligible to win the 10x multiplier if the Powerball jackpot exceeds $150 million.
Michigan Mega Millions and Powerball players can watch the live drawings on TV or find the results on the Michigan Lottery website to see if their ticket is a winner.
