The Michigan Lottery’s The Big Spin game has found a new winner. Brett DeHate, a resident of the Ogemaw County township of Lupton, is the latest to emerge victorious in the Big Spin Show lottery event. With John Salley, the former Detroit Pistons player, at the helm, DeHate’s spin of the prize wheel brought him a hefty $150,000 reward.

DeHate had the opportunity to showcase his skills on the program, thanks to his online entry of a non-winning Big Spin ticket code. According to a statement by the Michigan Lottery, he expressed how taken aback he was upon receiving a phone call from the Lottery notifying him of his selection as a participant for the Big Spin.

“You never think these types of things will happen to you, but this is proof that they can,” he remarked.

As the wheel was turning, DeHate’s thoughts were all over the place. Reaching the $150,000 mark was an achievement he never expected, and he’s already making plans for the money. He said the victory would enable him to renovate his home, settle debts and stash away cash in his savings account.

The show’s roster is composed of 20 competitors. The Big Spin awards each participant with a minimum of $100,000 and offers the opportunity to win an impressive $2 million through spinning a wheel. Thus far, players have been fortunate enough to win a cumulative total of $10.5 million in the game.

For every $10 The Big Spin ticket players buy, they can instantly win prizes as low as $10 or as much as $1 million. Since the game launched in September 2022, players have taken home over $14 million. There’s more to win, though, with over $56 million in prizes still up for grabs. Among these are two $1-million top prizes, four $10,000 prizes, and 118 $1,000 prizes.

The Big Spin Helping To Deliver Needed Funding To Worthy Causes

The game is helping the Michigan Lottery deliver needed funding to worthy causes across the state. Last year, it awarded over $1.7 billion through instant games, with proceeds from the lottery sales benefiting various charitable organizations.

DeHate’s win comes after another player landed an even bigger prize. In a recent spin, Karen Finger from Farmington Hills won $1 million in the game.
