Lottery players in Michigan have a chance at two huge jackpots in this weekend’s Powerball and Mega Millions draw games. The Mega Millions jackpot is currently $368 million for Friday night’s drawing.
The lump-sum cash option for the jackpot is $193.4 million. If there’s a winner in tonight’s drawing, it would be the third-biggest Mega Millions jackpot won in 2023.
The last time a player won the Mega Millions jackpot was in April when a lucky player from New York matched all five white balls and the Mega Ball to win the $20 million jackpot.
A player in Michigan hasn’t won the Mega Millions jackpot since an Oakland County lottery club took home a $1.05 billion jackpot in January 2021, the largest ever won in Michigan and the sixth-largest jackpot in lottery history.
The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s drawing is now estimated at $493 million, with the cash option for the winner at $258.3 million. If a player wins the jackpot this weekend, it will be the second-largest Powerball jackpot this year. The last time Powerball had a jackpot winner was in April when a ticket purchased in Ohio matched all five numbers and the Powerball to win $252.6 million.
The last time a Michigan player won the jackpot was when Cristy Davis of Waterford won $70 million on February 12, 2020.
There’s lots of time for players in Michigan to get their tickets for both drawings. Mega Millions tickets will be sold at Lottery retailers throughout the state until 10:45 pm tonight. Players can purchase Powerball tickets until 9:45 pm on Saturday. They can also buy Mega Millions tickets online at MichiganLottery.com.
Powerball drawings are held Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 pm. Players can add the Power Play option for an extra $1, which can multiply non-jackpot prizes up to ten times to a maximum of $2 million.
Mega Millions drawings are every Tuesday and Friday evening. Each ticket costs $2, with the option to add a Megapilier for $1 that can multiply non-jackpot winnings up to five times. Mega Millions is available to players in 45 states, Washington D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
