There hasn’t been a jackpot winner in the previous 30 Powerball drawings, bringing the jackpot for Monday night’s drawing up to $522 million.
The winning numbers in the Saturday, July 1 drawing were 4-17-35-49-61, and the Powerball was 8. The last time a player won the Powerball jackpot was on April 19, when one player from Ohio matched all five numbers and the Powerball to win $253 million.
A player in California matched all five numbers plus the Powerball on November 7 to win the largest jackpot in U.S. lottery history of $2.04 billion. The previous record was the $1.586 billion in January 13, 2016, Powerball drawing split between three players in California, Florida, and Tennessee.
Powerball drawings are held Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 pm. Players must try to match five balls from 1 to 69 and the Powerball number from 1 to 26 to win the jackpot. For an extra $1, players can add the Power Play option, which can increase the value of non-jackpot prizes from 2x up to 10x.
The Mega Millions jackpot has now surpassed the $400 million mark after there was no winner of the $368-million grand prize in last Friday’s drawing. This means the drawing coming up on July 4 will be estimated at $400 million, with a lump-sum cash option of $205 million. The winning numbers in the June 30 drawing were: 13-22-47-51-55, and the Mega Ball was 9.
There was no jackpot winner in the last drawing, but one lucky player in Texas matched all five white balls drawn on Friday to win $1 million. However, if that player had used the Megaplier option, their winnings would have increased to $3 million. The biggest prize in Michigan was $1,500 won on six separate tickets.
Mega Millions drawings take place every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 pm. Players must match five white balls from 1 to 70 and the Mega Ball, numbered from 1 to 25, to win the grand prize. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot is 1 in 302 million.
The last time a Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot was won in Michigan was when the Wolverine FLL lottery club took home a $1.05 billion Mega Millions grand prize in March 2021.
