The Michigan Lottery just continues to hand out some big prizes to players, and that has been the case in the traditional lottery or with scratch-off tickets. New games continue to be released by the Michigan Lottery and the new Winter Ice game is one that has become popular.
The $500,000 Winter Ice game launched back in December 2023, and there has already been over $5.6 million handed out to players. For just $5, players have the ability to win prizes starting at just $5, all the way up to $500,000.
There were two $500,000 grand prizes available when the game was released, but that number has been taken down to one. A 77-year-old man from St. Joseph County was able to take home the top prize after stopping at the Jit Food and Gas location in Constantine, Michigan.
The winner has chosen to remain anonymous, but he did share some details about the day in which he won the ticket. He actually decided to buy a Winter Ice ticket after a recommendation from the clerk, and revealed his massive win once he returned to his vehicle.
After visiting the Lottery headquarters to claim his top prize, the man says that he intends to purchase a new home. There is still more than $9 million in prizes available in the Winter Ice game, and it will continue to become more popular now that so many people are finding success.
Christmas Day Winner in the Powerball
The Christmas Day Powerball drawing was a big one for a man from Shiawasse County as he won $100,000 with his winning ticket. Todd Schroeder, 52, was the lucky winner on Christmas Day, and he jumped out of bed after seeing the massive prize pending.
Schroeder is a player that buys a lottery ticket a few times each month, and he always visits MichiganLottery.com in order to make his purchases. He was able to match four white balls and the power ball in order to lock in a $50,000 prize.
Schroeder made a good decision when purchasing his ticket as adding the power play feature allowed him to double up his winnings. Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, and players could win up to $10 million in one single drawing.
