Michigan Lottery players have a chance to win more than a half-billion dollars this week in the Powerball and Mega Millions draw games, with the next drawings to be held tonight and tomorrow.
The current Powerball jackpot is $324 million for the June 13 drawing. If there’s a winner of tonight’s jackpot, it would be the second-biggest Powerball jackpot awarded in 2023. The cash option for the jackpot is $167.3 million in one lump sum. There hasn’t been a winner of the Powerball jackpot since April when one ticket from Ohio matched all five white balls and the Powerball for a jackpot of $252.6 million.
Cristy David of Waterford was the last player from Michigan to win the Powerball jackpot, taking home a prize of $70 million on February 12, 2020.
The current Mega Millions jackpot stands at $260 million for tomorrow night’s drawing, with the winner having a cash option of $134.3 million. If a lucky player wins tonight’s jackpot, it would be the third-biggest Mega Millions jackpot won this year.
The last Mega Millions jackpot winner was also in April when a player in New York matched the five white balls plus the Mega ball to win the $20 million jackpot.
The last time a Michigan player won the Mega Millions jackpot was when an Oakland County lottery club took home a $1.05 billion jackpot. It was the largest-ever jackpot won in the state and the sixth-biggest prize won in U.S. lottery history.
There’s still time for players to purchase tickets for the upcoming drawings. Powerball tickets for tonight’s drawing are available at Lottery retailers until 9:45 pm. Mega Millions players can buy tickets until 10:45 pm nightly. Players can also purchase tickets online for both games at MichiganLottery.com or from the mobile app.
Powerball drawings are at 10:59 pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Players can multiply their winnings for $1 using the “Power Play” option, which can multiply non-jackpot prizes as much as ten times to a maximum of $2 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday evening. Tickets cost $2 per play, with the option to add a “Megaplier” for an additional $1. This add-on can multiply non-jackpot prizes by up to five times the amount. Mega Millions tickets can be purchased in 45 states, as well as in Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
