Having won $100,000 playing the $6,000,000 Jackpot second chance game, a resident of St. Clair County eagerly anticipates fulfilling her entrepreneurial aspirations. The individual, who preferred not to be named, was the lucky winner of $100,000 after being selected at random in the March 31 draw. Her entry into the contest came through the Michigan Lottery application after she scanned a Jackpot ticket that was not a winner of the $6,000,000 prize.

The 44-year-old player stated that upon receiving an email notifying her of the $100,000 prize – the largest in the second chance game, she was initially bewildered. She never expected to be chosen and didn’t believe the phone call was authentic.

However, not long after receiving the email, the phone call came. The Lottery called to inform her about the prize and the truth began to sink in. She added that her disbelief vanished, and she realized the news was genuine.

The winner has already claimed the jackpot prize and knows exactly what she wants to do with the unexpected windfall. Her goal is to start her own business, an ambition she has carried with her for years.

Any Jackpot ticket without a win in the primary game retains eligibility for a supplementary draw with rewards ranging from $500 to $100,000. Players may participate in the drawing by using Michigan Lottery’s mobile ticket scanner to scan their losing tickets before September 1, 2023.

Six more opportunities for redemption will be randomly selected before the contest ends. Each of those draws will award one winner $100,000. Additional prizes include five $10,000 winners, 20 $1,000 winners and 60 $500 winners. The next second chance drawing is on Thursday, April 27.

The second chance lottery winner was one of several to take home big prizes recently, although one player almost lost his. A man from Kent County, Michigan, nearly let his opportunity to win disappear when his Fantasy 5 ticket almost flew out his car window. It was a close call that could have cost him $328,439 from the April 8 draw.

Fortunately, he was able to save the ticket, and Michigan Lottery officials reported that he has already collected his prize. He said he doesn’t plan on spending the money and will put it in savings instead.
