Eileen Wickett of Northville is the latest $1 million Powerball Prize winner from the Michigan Lottery. The lucky player held the winning ticket for a month and a half before realizing she had won the prize. She matched all five white balls in the February 6 drawing with the numbers: 05-11-22-23-69.
Wickett says she always plays the same set of numbers using the Michigan Lottery subscription service so she doesn’t miss a drawing. So when she received an email from the Lottery informing her of the win, she assumed it was small and didn’t log onto her account for weeks.
When she finally logged in, she saw the $1 million prize pending and immediately called her kids to share the good news. The lucky winner recently claimed her prize at Lottery headquarters and plans to take a vacation, complete home improvements and share with her family.
Powerball Jackpot
The last Powerball jackpot was won on February 6, with one winner in Washington taking home the $754.6 million prize. The jackpot currently stands at $186 million.
Players can purchase Powerball tickets for $2 each online at MichiganLottery.com and one of over 10,000 Lottery retailers. The game features a Power Play option that multiplies non-jackpot prizes up to 10x, up to a maximum of $2 million. Players can add it to any Powerball purchase for just $1.
Players can increase their chance of winning $10 million by participating in the Double Play feature for an additional $1. Drawings are held three times a week – Monday, Wednesday, and Friday – at 10:59 PM.
