When he had this thought, he just threw it into the center console of his car. It was in a pile with all of his other nonwinners and it seemed that it was another try but failure in aiming to become a winner within the Michigan Lottery. But wait. His wife gave him a few additional tickets to go to the store and check, and the ticket he had purchased over four months ago, was checked again.
It turned out that the ticket in his center console matched that of the winner of that time. And along with it, after a trip to the Lottery office revealed that he was now the owner of $2 million in new money. He was completely speechless and genuinely in shock that a ticket which sat dormant in the car console for months wound up being the winner, and for such a large sum of money as well. Got to be thankful to have a wife looking out for him so the opportunity of the magnitude did not slip away.
The winning ticket itself was purchased at Shepherd E-Z Mart located at 550 E. Wright Ave in Shepherd, near Mount Pleasant. The place where the magic went down.

The man opted to receive the money as a one-time lump sum payment, rather than in annuity payments. This brought the final total out to about $1.3 million.
